August seems to have barely arrived and we’re already looking to September. Our wholesale orders for kale, chard, lettuce, peppers, eggplant, cherry tomatoes, corn and more continue steadily. The unseasonably dry weather has meant that we’re lugging irrigation pipe all over the farm when we’re not harvesting. We want to send a special thanks out to all our farmers’ market customers who join us every week in Barre and Plainfield, we’ve been having a great time at the markets and it’s so nice to share the joy of tasty, beautiful produce with you all. Thanks!

This week the folks here at Littlewood will be picking strawberries nonstop for Hunger Mountain Coop in Montpelier. The field looks great; lots of nicely-shaped green berries that will ripen for pick-your-own. We’ll open for pick-your-own around the 23rd but the exact date is still in the air. If you can’t wait until then, remember you can find our berries at Hunger Mountain and at the Barre and Plainfield Farmers’ Markets!
We’re so excited to have early berries, especially because we’re also bringing rhubarb! Crisp time!
Come on down to the Plainfield Farmers’ Market today and get these juicy treats before we sell out. We’ll also have huge bunches of kale, rainbow chard, and collards, as well as asparagus and our organic plant seedlings.
Probably the last week for asparagus too!
*PYO strawberries will begin around the 23rd of June. I’ll write the exact date as soon as we know!*
